Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday stated that the temperature is likely to surge in several northern states in the upcoming two to three days. The weather department stated that several states, including Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, are set to witness heatwave-like conditions. It further stated that the other states, including Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu, are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The IMD has advised the residents of these states to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

The weather department stated that the maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR is likely to increase by two to four degrees Celsius in the next three to four days. It informed that the maximum temperature in the national capital is likely to be calculated at 44 degrees Celsius.

The residents of Delhi-NCR are likely to witness clear skies for the next week, adding that the national capital is not likely to receive rainfall at least till June 14. The weather department stated that the maximum temperature in Delhi on Saturday was recorded at 39.8 degrees Celsius, 0.2 degrees Celsius below normal.

Apart from this, several states, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Kerala, are expected to receive rainfall for the next few days, providing relief from heat by reducing the temperature. The weather department stated that while the change in weather will provide relief, it will lead to other issues such as waterlogging and power outages.

While providing details, it stated that the formation of an upper air cyclonic circulation over South Gujarat and nearby regions will lead to rainfall in these states. The weather department stated that multiple districts of Maharashtra, including Jalgaon, Nashik, Pune, and Nagpur, are likely to receive rainfall till June 10.
