Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday stated that several states are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days. The weather department stated that apart from rain, these states will also witness thunderstorms and gusty winds. A cyclonic formation over the Bay of Bengal and nearby regions will lead to weather change in several states, including West Bengal, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. The rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. The IMD on Friday advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that the northern states, including Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh, are expected to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The residents of the national capital are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall, along with gusty winds, in the upcoming days. While the rainfall is likely to reduce the temperature and improve the air quality, it is also likely to lead to issues like waterlogging and power outages.

In addition, we anticipate moderate to heavy rainfall in several western and southern states. While the coastal regions are likely to witness heavy rainfall, the other areas are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall. However, the weather department also clarified that the temperature is not likely to significantly change in the southern states for the next few days. While providing details, the IMD stated that multiple regions of Tamil Nadu, including Western Ghats, Puducherry, Karaikal, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruvenelveli, Theni, and Thenkashi.
The weather department further stated that the rainfall might lead to other issues, including power outages, flood-like situations, and waterlogging. The weather has advised the residents of the coastal regions to limit their financial activities during the rainfall.
