Weather Update: IMD Issues Rain Alert For Delhi, UP And Punjab From Feb 13-19; Snow Forecast For Hills

Weather Update: Winter is gradually retreating from North India, including the Delhi-NCR region, as rising daily temperatures signal a seasonal shift. Despite this warming trend, the Meteorological Department has issued alerts for thunderstorms and rainfall across Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab.

Meteorological forecasts suggest that hilly regions may experience snowfall within the next 24 hours. Additionally, a period of turbulent weather is expected to affect several states from February 13 to February 19.

In the Delhi-NCR area, the sky is likely to remain overcast. This cloud cover may result in a lingering chill during the morning and evening hours. Furthermore, authorities have issued warnings for potential thunderstorms and rain starting after February 15.

Weather Outlook For UP And Bihar

In Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the weather is expected to remain largely clear. According to the department, light fog may persist in UP cities such as Agra, Aligarh, Meerut, Lucknow and Ghaziabad. Conversely, Bihar is expected to see clear skies in regions including Patna, Gaya, Champaran and Purnia.

The mountainous regions are bracing for a change as well; Uttarakhand is likely to witness heavy rain and high-velocity winds on February 16 and 17, specifically in districts like Chamoli, Rudraprayag, and Uttarkashi. While Himachal Pradesh will enjoy clear weather today, clouds are expected to move in after February 15, bringing warnings of snow and strong winds to higher altitudes.
