West Bengal Road Accident: Three people died and 26 others got injured in West Bengal's Howrah after a lorry collided with a bus carrying several passengers. The officials stated that the road accident took place in the Bagnan area in the early hours of Thursday, leading to panic among the locals. The lorry's driver reportedly lost control due to poor visibility, as the city has been witnessing rainfall for the past two days. The officials further stated that the injured people were admitted to a local hospital where they are being treated.
While providing details, the officials stated that the accident occurred when the bus was going from Bagnan to Shyambazar in north Kolkata. While the bus was trying to cross National Highway 16, the lorry collided with it due to lowered visibility. They further stated that the lorry was heading towards Kolaghat and collided with the passenger vehicle after violating multiple traffic signals.
The officials stated that all 29 injured people were rushed to the hospital, where three people were declared dead. They further informed that while some of them were discharged after initial treatment, the severely injured people were referred.
State Minister Arup Roy and MLA Arunabh Sen arrived at the accident site and observed the rescue operation. Arup Roy stated that the lorry was headed towards Kolaghat and collided with the passenger vehicle. He further stated that the exact reasons behind the accident will be revealed soon.

In a separate story, seven people, including a woman, died after a speeding Swift car crashed into a parked pick-up tempo on the Jejuri-Morgaon road in Pune on Tuesday evening. The accident took place around 7:15 PM near the Kirloskar Company premises. According to a Pune Pulse report, the tempo was stopped near Shriram Hotel to unload goods when the car, heading from Jejuri towards Indapur, rammed into it.
