The Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday has removed Raghav Chadha, as party's deputy leader in the Upper House. The AAP then appointed Punjab MLA as his replacement.
Mittal is the founder of Lovely Professional University in Punjab. The academic-turned politician joined politics in 2022. Times of India reported that the Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab is likely to be promoted as his replacement.
The Aam Aadmi Party has sent a letter to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat informing it of the change.The AAP currently has 10 members in the Rajya Sabha, including seven from Punjab and three from Delhi.
Who Is Ashok Mittal?
Ashok Mittal was born in Jalandhar, Punjab. His father started a small sweets business called Lovely Sweets. Ashok Mittal helped his brothers in this business. His university offers courses in various fields, and its students are working in India and abroad. In this way, he worked to connect education with employment.
He became involved in Punjab after joining the AAP. He entered the Rajya Sabha in 2022 and gave speeches in Parliament on a number of significant topics. He has established himself as a composed and practical leader.
