World Largest Road Network: Here’s List Of Top 5 Countries With Giant Road Networks; Know India's Ranking

World Largest Road Network: The road network is key to the development of any country. Not only for people to commute, better roads and important for transportation of goods from one place to another, which provides a massive empowerment to he logistics. Union Transportation Minister Nitin Gadkari has at times reaiterated words of former US President John F Kennedy, who said, “America's roads are good not because America is rich. America is rich because of its good roads."

Drawing inspiration from this, Gadkari has vowed to transform Indian road infrastructure and a massive investment has been made in this regard. As we discuss the importance of road network, here are the rankings of the countries based on their road network.

The United States has the world's largest network of roads. According to information, America has a network of roads of about 68 lakh kilometres. The US also has the world's largest highway, which is known as Pan America. This highway is about 30 thousand kilometres long and passes through 14 countries of the world.

India ranks second in the list of countries with the largest road network in the world. According to information, India has a road network of 63.7 lakh kilometres. National Highway 44 is a big contributor to this. It is 3745 kilometres long and one can travel from Kashmir to Kanyakumari through it. Apart from this, the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is also included in this list. This ambitious project is 1200 km long and once completed, the distance between these two cities can be covered within 12 hours.

China is at third position in this list of longest road network. According to information, China has a network of roads of 53 lakh km. According to information, the largest highway in China is G219. This highway is about 10000 km long.

Apart from America, India and China, Russia and Brazil are also included in the list of countries with powerful road network. After China, Brazil is next in line with roads spanning 20 lakh km. There is a network of roads from the Amazon rainforests to the cities. Russia holds fifth position with a road network of 13 lakh km.
