The Jharkhand government has initiated the process of setting up dedicated Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) police stations in five districts, Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Chatra, Jamshedpur, and Khunti, to strengthen its crackdown on illegal narcotics cultivation and trafficking.

Following cabinet approval, the police headquarters has issued orders to operationalise these specialised stations. According to an order from the IG Headquarters, the Home, Prison, and Disaster Management Department has also released a formal notification, copies of which have been sent to officials in the concerned districts for necessary action.
