Ranchi Division Increases Train Capacity Following Surge In Passengers After IndiGo Cancellations

Following the cancellation of several IndiGo flights, the number of passengers opting for rail travel has suddenly increased. In response to the changing situation, the Ranchi Rail Division has taken swift action, deciding to add extra coaches to several key trains to facilitate passenger travel. 

This move by the rail division is significantly helping passengers reach their destinations on time. A joint team from the commercial and operations departments analysed availability, demand, and waiting lists to ensure that the maximum number of passengers benefit from the additional coaches.

Extra coaches are being added to the following trains:

- An additional air-conditioned Third Economy (3E) coach was added to the 12877 Ranchi-New Delhi Garib Rath Express on December 5. 

- An additional second-class sleeper coach will be added to the 18611 Ranchi-Varanasi Express on December 6.
