Dry Fruits For Uric Acid: The elevated serum uric acid level is usually defined as hyperuricemia. High uric acid levels can be a result of the body making too much uric acid and not getting rid of enough of it or both. The body filters out uric acid through the kidneys and in the urine. Some potential causes of high uric acid include drinking too much alcohol, genetics, kidney problems, leukaemia, or obesity. Certain foods can help in reducing high uric acid levels in the body. Shailaja Mamtora Thakar, Life and Wellness coach listed some dry fruits that reduce high uric acid levels.

Dry Fruits For Uric Acid
1. Walnuts
Walnuts are abundant in omega-3 fatty acids and gout-friendly protein that may help in reducing uric acid levels in the body. The presence of these omega fatty acids in walnuts reduces inflammation and raises uric acid levels.

2. Almonds
Almonds are rich in Vitamin E and have antioxidants that reduce inflammation. You should add almonds to your diet as they are extremely low in purines and are a great source of vitamin E, manganese, and magnesium.
3. Pistachios

According to Dr Thakar, pistachios are high in fibre and potassium which helps in reducing uric acid. They are also beneficial to manage blood sugar levels, are heart healthy, boost immunity, haemoglobin, and vision and enhance the digestion process.
4. Cherries
It has anthocyanins, anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants that may be responsible for lowering high uric acid levels in the body. Cherries are known as stone fruits that fight inflammation, reduce the risk of several diseases, promote good sleep, soothe sore muscles, improve blood sugar levels and are a pack of nutritional punch.

5. Dates
Dates or khajoor are another healthy dry fruit that can aid in lowering high uric acid. It is abundant in potassium, an ideal nutrient that is highly alkaline in nature, making it effective for neutralising excess acid from the body.
