Worst Foods For Digestion: The foods that we eat have a direct impact on our overall health and well-being. A healthy diet with the right amounts of essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, fibre, and protein among many others is the right mantra for healthy digestion and other bodily functions. Eating junk foods majorly causes problems with digestion and causes constipation, diarrhoea, bloating and an unhealthy gut. While adding healthy superfoods is one of the best ways to promote digestion, eliminating some foods from your diet can also be a healthy practice to keep your gut healthy. Here is a list of some foods that are bad for digestion.

1. Fried Foods
According to WebMD, they are high in fat and can bring diarrhoea. Rich sauces, fatty cuts of meat, and buttery or creamy desserts can cause problems, too. Instead, choose roasted or baked foods and light sauces that feature vegetables instead of butter or cream.

2. Citrus Fruits
Citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons and others have an abundance of citric acid and vitamin C content which can sometimes irritate the stomach lining and cause digestive problems. High-acidic foods can also cause abdominal pain and acid reflux.

3. Foods With Antibiotics
Antibiotics can’t tell the difference between good and bad bacteria, so they kill them all. Often, farmers treat animals with antibiotics to keep them from getting infections, says WebMD. If you eat these animal products, it can kill the healthy bacteria in your gut, and because some bacteria become antibiotic resistant over time, meaning the drugs no longer affect it, causing digestion probelms.

4. Too Much Fibre
Although fibre is a vital nutrient required for body functioning, too many amounts of fibre can trouble the digestive system and hinder its functioning. Eating too much fibre can cause gastrointestinal discomfort, bloating, constipation and other digestive problems.
5. Fructose
WebMD states that foods sweetened with fructose including sodas, candy, fruit juice, and pastries are hard for some people to digest. Eating foods with fructose can lead to diarrhoea, bloating, and cramps.
