Indians are known for their love of sweet delicacies. Indian mithai not only tastes delicious but is also loved for its versatility. People often visit the mithai shop near them and indulge in the sweets of their choice. However, nothing can be better than having your favourite mithai made at home. People live under the impression that sweet delicacies require a lot of time and patience when made at home.
Meals in Indian households are considered incomplete without mithai. Besides, sweet dishes are considered a welcome staple in most houses and are also offered in places of worship as prasad. Although the easiest option to indulge in sweet delicacies is by buying from the mithai shop, making them at home is not as challenging as you think. There are several sweet dishes, ranging from Besan laddoo to Kalakand, that can be made easily without hassle, especially in under 15 minutes.
Sweet Dishes That Can Be Made Under 15 Minutes At Home
Besan Laddoo
This is one of the easy-to-make desserts, and it tastes delicious. Within 15 minutes, one can simply make this mithai by roasting besan and ghee together until they are golden brown. Add cardamom powder, powdered sugar, and chopped nuts for added flavour. Stir everything well and shape it into small round balls. Besides their amazing taste, they are nutritious as well.
Kalakand
Kalakand is a traditional mithai that is often enjoyed during festivals and special occasions. It is made with fresh paneer or chhenna and sugar and flavoured with cardamom. For the 15-minute Kalakand recipe, all you need is condensed milk, homemade chenna, and cardamom powder. Mix homemade chenna, condensed milk, and cardamom powder together. Keep stirring until it becomes grainy and moist. Transfer to a grease tray and let the mixture refrigerate. Cut into square pieces to attain the authentic Kalakand shape.
Instant Microwave Peda
Although there are different versions of peda, this instant microwave peda can be cooked in under 15 minutes. All you need to do is microwave butter then add condensed milk and milk powder to it. Mix well and microwave again. When the mixture attains a thick consistency, set it aside to cool for five minutes. Apply ghee to your palms and make small balls with your hand. Flatten the balls and add almonds or pistachios to it for a crunchy flavour.

Rice Kheer
Hardly there is anyone who doesn’t love a bowl full of kheer. Traditionally slow cooked for the perfect burst of flavour, rice kheer, or rice pudding, is made with a rich blend of milk, sugar, and cooked rice. Cook the mixture together till it thickens, and add cardamom powder for a flavourful taste. Serve chill.
Nariyal Barfi
This mithai is made of coconut, sugar or jaggery, milk, cardamoms, and sometimes nuts. This is a popular festive delight that is delicious and addictive too. For this sweet delicacy, cook desiccated coconut and full-fat milk together. Add sugar and stir until it melts and the moisture evaporates. Add cardamom powder and nuts of your choice. Transfer it to a greased pan and let it cool for three to four hours. Cut it into barfi squares and enjoy.
