According to WebMD, cloves are abundant in antioxidants, including eugenol. Antioxidants help your body fight free radicals, which damage your cells and can lead to disease. By removing free radicals from your system, the antioxidants found in cloves can help lower your risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers.
2. Lower Inflammation
When added to your regular diet, the anti-inflammatory properties of cloves help in reducing inflammation in the body. One antioxidant known as Eugenol in cloves is the most important of other compounds and is known to reduce the inflammatory response in the body, and risk of diseases such as arthritis and help to manage symptoms.

3. Improve Liver Function
Several studies suggest that the antioxidant eugenol found in cloves can help in reducing the signs of liver cirrhosis and fatty liver diseases. Besides eugenol, cloves also contain other pharmacologically active phytochemicals such as sitosterol and ascorbic acid.

One of the most amazing benefits of cloves is that they can significantly lower the blood sugar levels of the body.
