It is important to follow a good lip care routine which includes periodic exfoliation, a healthy diet and sun protection. If you are someone who is unable to follow a lip care routine, here are some easy and effective home remedies to get smooth and pink lips at home.

1. Coconut Oil

The coconut oil provides moisturising effects to the lips, thus preventing dryness. Applying coconut oil is a natural and effective treatment for dry and chapped lips. It is considered an emollient which keeps the skin moist and also protects the skin from damage. Also, the antimicrobial properties of coconut oil help in keeping the lips germ-free and reduce swelling. You can apply virgin coconut oil over your lips and allow it to dry naturally for about 10 to 20 minutes.

2. Lemon Juice

Lemon is induced with incredible skin-brightening properties that treat pigmentation and heal cracked lips. You can use lemon as a natural scrub to achieve smooth lips. Every night before going to bed, you can rub the juicy part of lemon over your lips and rinse with cold water in the morning. Another way to use lemon for smooth lips is by rubbing your lips with sugared lemon.

3. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is one of the most effective ingredients used for skin care and hair care. The presence of vitamins A, and C, enzymes and antioxidants in aloe vera is effective for chapped lips. Aloe vera binds moisture to the skin and prevents it from drying. You can take one scoop of natural aloe vera gel in a bowl, apply it on your lips and leave for about 10 to 15 minutes. Wash off with water.

4. Sugar

Sugar acts as a natural scrub for chapped lips. They are organic, natural and do not contain any harmful chemicals. Either you can rub sugar on your lips gently as a scrubber or mix it with honey and apply it on your lips as a lip mask.
