Chhath Puja Ghats: Chhath Puja is one of the major Hindu festivals that honours Surya Dev and Chhathi Maiya. This year, Chhath Puja will start on October 25 and it will conclude on October 28. The festival is very popular in Bihar and UP and is marked by strict rituals like taking the Arghya offerings to the sun at both sunrise and sunset, amongst others and fasting. All these are done to gain the blessings of the sun for health, prosperity and well-being. The worship of arghya (water) is offered to the rising and setting sun, performed on the ghats and banks of holy rivers, lakes and ghats. Thus, throughout India, riverbanks become the centre of the spiritual celebrations with the lighting of lamps and singing of hymns.

The charm of Chatth Puja comes from its sunrise rituals along the riverbanks and ghats, where the devotees set the atmosphere of profound piety and communal peace. Every ghat of India has a different aura and historical significance, adding a spiritual significance to the devotion of the pilgrims.
