Tips To Prevent Dry Skin During Winter

Thoroughly moisturise your skin: Individuals are advised to apply a thick layer of moisturiser on their skin, particularly hands and feet. Opt for a hydrating moisturiser that includes ingredients like shea butter, glycerin, or petroleum jelly. This can help lock in moisture in your skin further preventing it from becoming dry and rough. Apply it several times a day.

Do not use harsh soaps: Using harsh soaps on your skin is a complete no-no, particularly during the winter. These soaps can strip out natural oils from your skin which can make it extremely rough and dehydrated. Go for soaps or body washes with gentle ingredients to avoid unnecessary irritation or allergic reactions.

Wear socks or gloves: When you go outside try wearing socks or gloves. The colder air outdoors can negatively harm your skin while increasing the risk of various skin problems. Ensure that you wear socks or gloves that are made from soft and breathable materials. It can help prevent the risk of cracks in your feet and hands.

Stay hydrated from inside: While you use moisturiser to hydrate your skin it becomes crucial to even stay hydrated from within. People are encouraged to drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated. During the winter season, you do not feel thirsty but maintaining hydration levels in your body is vital. This can help make your skin soft.
