JE Lifestyle Desk: The auspicious occasion of Shayani Ekadashi or Devshayani Ekadashi is here and the devotees are observing the significant day by worshipping Lord Shiva across the country. It is one of the most prominent Ekadashi of the complete year as it marks the beginning of auspicious Chaturmas. This Ekadashi will coincide with one of the biggest festivals of the Muslim community, Eid-al-Adha or Bakra Eid 2023. According to Drik Panchang, the Ekadashi tithi will begin at 03:18 AM on June 29 and end at 02:42 AM on June 30, 2023.
Important Things To Keep In Mind While Worshipping Lord Vishnu
1. Devotees observe fast on the day of Devshayani Ekadashi and offer prayers to Lord Vishnu.
2. Keep the vrat only after consulting your doctor as fasting for long hours may adversely affect your health in case you have any medical condition or are under medication.
3. Take a bath and wear fresh/clean clothes.
4. Do not consume onion, garlic, meat, rice, wheat, lentils and legumes in any form.
5. Do not smoke and drink. Eat only vrat recipes or fruits and milk.
6. Donate food or essentials to the needy.
7. Stay calm, be polite and try to tame your mind from wavering. It is all about controlling the mind and body.
8. Those who fast on Ekadashi should not consume items like meat, garlic, or onion on this auspicious day.
9. Keep chanting the auspicious mantras of Lord Vishnu throughout the day.
Devshayani Ekadashi 2023: Parana Time
Parana means breaking the fast. Ekadashi Parana is done after sunrise on the next day of the Ekadashi fast. It is necessary to do Parana within Dwadashi Tithi unless Dwadashi is over before sunrise. Not doing Parana within Dwadashi is similar to an offence. The auspicious Parana time is 01:48 PM to 04:36 PM on June 30, 2023.
