Komol Puli Ingredients List
Milk - 2 cups
Maida - 2 cups
Khoa Kheer / mawa - 1 cup
Elachi powder - 1/4 tsp
Sugar or Nolen gur - 1 cup
Water - 1/2 cup
Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
Ghee - 1tbsp
Oil for frying tsp
Sugar powder - 2

Easy Komol Puli Recipe: How To Make ‘Thakur Barir’ Special Dessert In Poush Sankranti 2026
Heat milk and grated coconut till it starts to simmer. Add maida and fold it in till it starts to form a dough. Keep aside to cool off completely. Knead for 5 min. Add ghee and let it rest for 15 minutes. Divide into large dough balls.
Mix khoa kheer, sugar powder and cardamom powder. Mash with the help of palms. Make a dough. Divide into small dough balls. Stuff it inside the larger dough balls.
Rest for 1 hour in the fridge.
Heat oil and over a medium heat fry the balls without breaking.
Prepare a syrup with 1/2 cup water and 1 cup nolen gur. Simmer for 10 min and turn off the gas
While still hot, Submerge in syrup for 1 hour before serving. You Komol puli is ready to be served.
