Happy Children's Day 2025: Every year, Children’s Day is celebrated on November 14 in India to celebrate the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. Also known as Chacha Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru was extremely affectionate towards children. He believed that children are the citizens of tomorrow and they should be brought up with love and care. History Of Children’s Day
Children’s Day in India was first celebrated on July 30, 1949, long before the day was officially associated with Nehru. Later, on November 14, 1957, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, then President of India, laid the foundation stone of the Indian Council for Child Welfare (ICCW), the presence of Nehru. This marked a turning point in the nation’s approach towards children’s welfare.
