Tips To Make Mehndi Darker: The special festival of Karwa Chauth is here and preparations are in full swing. It is a significant Hindu festival that is predominantly celebrated in Northern states by married women for their husbands' well-being and longevity. On this special day, married women observe a strict whole-day fast for their husbands to seek blessings of Maa Karwa for their husbands’ prosperity, long life and health. Women get ready in beautiful attires, adorn jewellery like a new bride, apply mehendi and observe fast without even consuming water throughout the day.
Applying mehndi plays a significant role in Karwa Chauth celebrations. It is a way in which women express their commitment and love towards their husbands and it symbolises the sacred bond of marriage between husband and wife. It is also believed that if Mehndi stains are dark on women's hands, then their husbands love them a lot. Here are some simple and effective ways to make your mehndi stain darker on Karwa Chauth.
Tips To Make Mehndi Darker
Choose Good Henna: With the markets bustling with a variety of mehndi cones, make sure to choose the right one. Prefer to buy natural and organic henna which is free of artificial additives and any chemicals.
Make Strong Paste: If you don’t want to buy mehndi from the market, you can also prepare it at your home. Mix henna powder with lemon juice, sugar and essential oils to make mehndi darker and ensure the paste stays longer.

Heat And Moisture: After removing dry mehndi from your hands, apply heat to make the stain darker. Keeping the mehndi stain area warm makes the stain darker and stays longer.
Lemon Water And Sugar: Once your henna dries, make a mixture of lemon juice and sugar and apply it over your mehndi using cotton balls.
Longer Application Time: To make your henna stain darker, you need to ensure to keep your mehndi for around 6-8 hours to dry properly and leave the stain.
