The festival falls on the fourth day (Chaturthi) of the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) in the Hindu month of Kartik, which comes right after the Navratri celebration. As per Drik Panchang, the tithi actually begins late on Thursday, October 9, at 10:54 PM, and ends on Friday, October 10, at 7:38 PM. Since the Karwa Chauth fast is observed on the day when the Chaturthi tithi is active, October 10 is the correct day for Karwa Chauth in 2025.
