The month of Sawan, also known as Shravan Maas, is observed across the country with utmost dedication and devotion. The auspicious month of sawan began on July 4 this year and will culminate on August 31, stretching for two months due to Adhik Maas. The first somvar of Sawan 2023 will be observed on July 10 with great enthusiasm and joy.

The first sawan somwar will witness lakhs of devotees worshipping Lord Shiva to seek his blessings for a healthy and prosperous life. On this special day, devotees observe a whole-day fast, abstain from consuming any food items and worship the deity with utmost reverence.

First Somvar Of Shravan Maas: Shubh Muhurat

As per the Drik Panchang, the monthly Sawan Shivaratri falls on the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha - July 15. The auspicious tithi will begin at 8:32 PM on July 15 and end at 10:08 PM on July 16. The Nishita Kaal Puja Timings will begin at 12:07 AM and end at 12:48 AM on July 16.

First Somvar Of Shravan Maas: Puja Vidhi

To please Lord Shiva and obtain his blessings for a healthy and prosperous life, devotees fast for 16 consecutive Mondays. The deity is said to be pleased when the Solah somvar vrat is observed, and he bestows happiness, prosperity, and good health upon his devotees.

The Brahma muhurta is the time for devotees to wake up early and bathe. Spread Ganga Jal liberally throughout your home. Pay a visit to the Lord Shiva temple and offer Jalabhishek to the Shiv ling. Place an idol of Lord Shiva in your home's puja area right away, and present the deity with fresh flowers. Offer Bholenath worship and recite the divine mantra "Om Namah Shivay" 108 times. By combining milk, curd, ghee, honey, and Gangajal, offer Lord Shiva the Rudra Abhishek. Shiv Aarti and Shiv Chalisa are performed to appease the god and obtain blessings.
