South Side Story 2026: Delhi Edition Concludes With Dynamic Celebration Of South Indian Music, Culture And Contemporary Expression

South Side Story Concludes: The eighth edition of South Side Story concluded in Delhi on August 30th at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium, blending music, culture, food, literature, art and contemporary expressions from across South India. Over the two days, the festival witnessed fans screaming and hooting together across generations and geographies. It was nothing less than a vibrant cultural exchange through a diverse line-up of artists, performances, culinary experiences and cultural showcases.

Many Textures Of South Indian Culture

The vibrant two-day festival became the highlight of the month for all the South Indian fans. The Day 1 line-up impressed the masses with Baby Jean, The Raghu Dixit Project, Sooraj Santhosh and Karthik setting the stage on fire. The traditional and contemporary cultural experiences included Kalaripayattu and Chenda x Dhol, which added even more power to the night.

On Day 2, Arya Dhayal, Aksomaniac, Shobana, Masala Coffee and Thaikkudam Bridge continued to hypnotise the audience with their unmatched performances. The powerful rhythms of Chenda x Dhol concluded the night with another amazing, high-energy showcase. Thaikkudam Bridge, who returned to the South Side Story stage for the eighth consecutive year, brought the Delhi edition to a high-energy close.

Beyond the main stage, audiences experienced the many textures of South Indian culture through Kalaripayattu, Bharatanatyam and Kathakali showcases, alongside the 20+ Onam Sadhya dishes and a selection of curated food and beverage experiences.

Reflecting on her participation in the Delhi edition, Shobana, Padma Shri awardee, Bharatanatyam dancer and acclaimed actress, said, “South Indian culture has always had so many forms of expression, from dance and music to storytelling and tradition. What makes South Side Story special is the way it brings these different forms together and allows them to be experienced by audiences from different backgrounds and generations. A key highlight of the festival was Hocco Spotlight, which provided a platform for emerging artists, with winners ThamBUraan and AARAA taking the stage across the two days. The festival's digital-twin partner AskSila added an AI-led technology layer to the festival, allowing audiences to create their AI twins and participate in an interactive “Scan. Twin. Win.” experience, with lucky winners getting the opportunity to meet artists backstage and take home signed posters.

Speaking about the conclusion of the Delhi edition, Nisha Narayanan, Director & COO, Red FM, said, “Over these two days, we saw people sing along, discover artists they may not have heard before, respond to traditions they may have never experienced up close, and simply enjoy being part of the celebration. The eighth year of South Side Story continues to mark the evolution from a music-led festival into a larger cultural platform celebrating the sounds, stories, food, art and contemporary expressions of South India. Following its maiden Pune edition earlier this month and the Delhi celebration, the festival will travel to Bengaluru on November 28, 2026.
