Teachers' Day in India is a day to celebrate all teachers who contribute to the development of the nation. The day marks the birthday of Dr Savepalli Radhakrishnan and is celebrated every year on September 5 to honour educators and their contributions. Dr. Radhakrishnan was a philosopher and scholar who later became an influential politician, serving as both the first Vice President of India and the second President of India. He was influential in the field of education and in the upbringing of the youth of the nation. He suggested that to celebrate his birthday, the day would be observed as Teachers' Day and has been observed by schools and higher educational institutions across India since 1962.
The day not just serves to acknowledge Dr. Radhakrishnan but also teachers in India who dedicate significant parts of their lives to shape and educate students in different fields. Here, we've compiled some motivational quotes by Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan that every student and teacher should read.
