Bihar News: In a major update for the passengers, IndiGo on Wednesday announced that the direct flight services between Mumbai and Bihar's Gaya will resume from March 29. The airline further stated that the services will be available till October 30, adding that the flight is scheduled to arrive in Gaya at 3.20 pm and will depart for the capital city of Maharashtra at 3.50 pm. IndiGo further asserted that it decided to resume the services after receiving requests from the passengers and the authorities. The airline stated that the services will provide conveniences to thousands of passengers and will boost the religious tourism during the summer months.

While providing details, Airport Director Awadhesh Kumar stated that the service is being started for a limited period to provide relief to the passengers during the summer months. However, he asserted that the flight services can be made regular in the near future if the airline receives a good response. The officials asserted that along with Gaya, the flight services to Mumbai will also provide relief to thousands of passengers of other nearby districts, including Jehanabad, Nalanda, and Rajgir.

The airline services, especially between Patna and Delhi, have been disrupted in the past few weeks due to the presence of dense fog. The airlines have advised the passengers to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.

Earlier on January 2, the airline strengthened air connectivity from Puducherry by operating 14 flights every week, improving access to key cities in southern India. The airline said the move supports regional travel needs and wider development across sectors.

IndiGo began commercial operations from Puducherry on December 20, 2024, and has now completed one year of service in the Union Territory. As of December 2025, the airline operates regular flights connecting Puducherry with Bengaluru and Hyderabad, according to a statement released on Saturday.
