Railways Provide Temporary Halt To 7 Train Pairs At Prayagraj Rambagh, Jhunsi For Magh Mela Pilgrims

Railways have provided significant relief for devotees ahead of the Magh Mela 2026 by granting a temporary halt for seven pairs of trains at Prayagraj Rambagh and Jhunsi stations. This two-minute stop will be implemented during January and February 2026, facilitating easier disembarkation near the Mela area and improving crowd management.

In view of the increasing number of pilgrims on the occasion of the Magh Mela, the railway administration has provided significant relief. To ensure the convenience and smooth travel of passengers, a temporary halt has been provided for seven pairs of trains at Prayagraj Rambagh and Jhunsi stations. 

These trains will be given an additional two-minute halt at both stations on various dates in January and February 2026.

East Central Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer, Saraswati Chandra, stated that this facility is being provided to a total of 14 trains (7 pairs including up and down services), including the Jaynagar-Lokmanya Tilak Pawan Express, Sitamarhi-Anand Vihar Lichchhavi Express, Danapur-Udhna Express, Jaynagar-New Delhi Swatantrata Senani Express, Darbhanga-Pune Express, Raxaul-Lokmanya Tilak Antyodaya Express, and the Darbhanga-Ahmedabad Antyodaya Express. 

All these trains will be given a halt at both Prayagraj Rambagh and Jhunsi stations. According to railway officials, a large number of devotees travel to Prayagraj for a holy dip at the Sangam during the Magh Mela.

In this situation, besides Prayagraj Junction, the Rambagh and Jhunsi stations are considered more convenient for devotees. This arrangement of a temporary halt will make it easier for passengers to disembark near the Mela area and will also help balance the pressure of the crowd.
