Adipurush Box Office Report Day 25: Despite the initial buzz and high anticipation, 'Adipurush', starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, did not live up to the sky-high expectations set by the audience. Directed by Om Raut, the film failed to sustain its momentum and has experienced a decline in popularity. While it did manage to achieve moderate collections in its first week at the box office, 'Adipurush' is currently experiencing dwindling audience interest.
The worldwide theatrical release of the 3D film 'Adipurush' took place on June 16. However, the film faced criticism for its lack of authenticity and below-par visual effects (VFX). The movie was released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, ensuring a wide reach for the audience.
'Adipurush', which was made on a massive budget of Rs 600 crore, was expected to be the costliest Indian film ever made. As per reports, the film is currently facing difficulties in surpassing the Rs 30 lakh mark in terms of daily earnings. Despite making efforts to enhance the film by revising dialogues and issuing apology notes, it has unfortunately failed to gain traction at the box office and continues to underperform. However, the movie grossed Rs 404.25 crore approx. worldwide.
About Adipurush:
'Adipurush' presents a cinematic retelling of the legendary Indian epic 'Ramayana', showcasing the eternal clash between right and wrong. The narrative revolves around Raghav, the prince of the Ikshvaku dynasty from Kosala, who is compelled to undertake a 14-year exile in the wilderness along with his wife Janaki and younger brother Shesh. Set in the serene landscapes of Panchvati, nestled by the Godavari River, the trio finds solace in their tranquil way of life.
However, the peaceful existence of Raghav, Janaki, and Shesh is disrupted when the wicked demoness Shurpankha, driven by her malicious intentions, attempts to seduce the brothers and orchestrates a treacherous attack on Janaki. In a twist of fate, Shurpankha faces severe repercussions, losing her ears and nose in the process.
Enraged by this humiliation, Demon King Lankesh discovers the incident and decides to retaliate by abducting Janaki. Determined to rescue her, Raghav and Shesh embark on a dangerous quest, accompanied by the Monkey King Sugriv, his faithful companion Bajarang, and a valiant army of monkeys.
Prabhas takes on the role of Raghava, the protagonist, in the film, while Kriti Sanon portrays the character of Janaki. Saif Ali Khan brings the antagonist Lankesh to life with his powerful performance. Sunny Singh impresses as Lakshman, while Devdatta Nage embodies the beloved character of Lord Hanuman.
