Adipurush Box Office Collection Day 23: Prabhas and Kriti Sanon's film 'Adipurush' initially generated high anticipation among the audience. However, the movie directed by Om Raut did not live up to expectations and quickly fizzled out. While 'Adipurush' did not completely fail at the box office and had a decent collection for the first week days, the film is now experiencing a drop in its popularity.
Prabhas' movie is nearing the end of its theatrical run and has been struggling to earn more than Rs 50 lakh currently. Despite efforts to improve the film through revised dialogues and apology notes, it has unfortunately continued to underperform at the box office.
Prabhas' film 'Adipurush' had its theatrical debut on June 16 amid several controversies. The movie received a wide release across India in five languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Despite high expectations, the Om Raut-directed film 'Adipurush' faced disappointment at the box office. The film suffered due to its weak visual effects, dialogue, and storytelling. As a result, 'Adipurush' is now nearing the end of its theatrical run even before completing a one-month stint in cinemas. In recent days, the film has been earning between Rs 20-35 lakh at the Indian box office.
Speaking about 'Adipurush's poor performance, trade analyst Akshay Rathi told India Today, "The way that movie was structured, everything was fine financially. What went wrong is the storytelling and the reputational loss that it caused to the makers. There is an element of faith and divinity attached to 'Ramayana' and it needs to be treated in a certain manner. The way 'Adipurush' was narrated really didn't resonate with the sensibilities and faith of people. That's what gave it the backlash it got."
About Adipurush:

Directed and written by Om Raut, the movie has faced severe criticism nationwide for its lacklustre screenplay, subpar visual effects, and dialogues that some consider to be unrefined. The film stars Prabhas in the role of Raghava, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh.
Sunny Singh portrayed the character of Lakshman, while Devdatta Nage brought Lord Hanuman to life on the screen. The cinematography was handled by Karthik Palani, and the editing was done by Apurva Motiwale Sahai and Ashish Mhatre, making up the talented technical crew of the film.
