Cyber City Security: Gurugram Police Order Criminal Checks For All Delivery, Cab Staff

Police in Gurugram held a meeting with food delivery and cab companies to ensure the police verification of their delivery partners. Directives were issued to remove employees with criminal backgrounds. The companies were also instructed to maintain updated personnel records and prioritise women's safety to facilitate swift action during emergencies.

Cyber City Security: Gurugram Police Order Criminal Checks For All Delivery, Cab Staff

To further strengthen security arrangements in Cyber City, a significant meeting was held on Friday at the Police Commissioner's office. The meeting was attended by representatives from various food delivery and pickup-drop service companies.

The main objective of the meeting was to strictly ensure the police verification of all delivery partners and drivers working in the city.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters), Dr Arpit Jain, instructed the company representatives that police verification for all delivery partners, riders, and drivers must be completed. He emphasised that no employee should be employed without this verification.

The companies were given the following instructions:

- Immediately inform the police if any employees are found to have an incorrect or criminal background.

- Such individuals must be removed from service.

- Companies must keep their personnel records updated and provide them to the police to enable swift action in any emergency.

Additionally, keeping women's safety in mind, delivery and cab companies were instructed to exercise special caution. They were directed to immediately report any suspicious activities to the police.
