Sonam Kumar Singh, Banka, Bihar: The body of a 22-year-old woman was found hanging from a tree in Mahoriya village under the Banka Town police station area on Sunday morning, triggering panic among local residents. The discovery has raised questions over the circumstances of her death, with her family alleging that she was murdered and her body was later hung from the tree to make it look like a suicide.
The deceased was identified as Nisha Kumari, daughter of Prakash Rai. According to preliminary information, the incident came to light when villagers heading towards the nearby fields spotted the woman’s body hanging from a tree. They alerted other residents and informed Nisha’s family and the police. Soon after, a crowd gathered at the site.
Family members who reached the scene raised suspicions of foul play and alleged that Nisha had been murdered as part of a conspiracy. They claimed that the body was subsequently suspended from the tree with a noose in an attempt to conceal the alleged murder and mislead the investigation.
However, the family has not so far submitted a written complaint naming any individual or provided specific details about the alleged motive or possible suspects.
On receiving information, a police team from Banka Town police station reached Mahoriya village and secured the area.
