Delhi Weather Update: The Indian Meteorological Department said that New Delhi is expected to receive light to medium showers on Sunday. The minimum temperature in the national capital is expected to remain at 26.2 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to rise up to 37 degrees Celsius.
During the daytime, the capital may witness cloudy weather; however, in the evening, people may experience light showers with heavy winds. Humidity levels are expected to remain around 72 per cent, while winds are likely to blow at a speed of around 2 kmph. Weather experts indicate that the current conditions are influenced by a western disturbance situated over the hills, which is gradually moving away. As the system weakens and shifts further away, its impact on Delhi is expected to reduce from Sunday onwards.
Weather for the Next Few Days
The weather department forecasted that the sky may remain cloudy for the next two days. However, during the afternoon, the city might experience an extreme heatwave. Furthermore, overnight thunderstorms and rain have caused a drop in temperatures. This provided considerable relief from the heat, but on Saturday, the sun shone brightly from morning until evening.
Today's AQI
Meanwhile, Delhi's AQI was recorded at 139 at 9 am on Sunday, which falls in the "moderate" category. The air quality in the NCR cities is also in the satisfactory to moderate category. It is predicted that this will remain unchanged for the foreseeable future.
As per CPCB standards, an AQI between 101 and 200 falls in the 'Moderate' category, while readings between 51 and 100 are considered 'Satisfactory.'

With rainfall activity expected to reduce gradually, temperatures are likely to rise moderately during the week, though weather experts do not foresee any immediate return of severe heatwave conditions.
