A shocking incident has been reported from Mumbai, where gas-filled balloons suddenly exploded inside a building’s elevator, leaving two people seriously injured. The terrifying moment was captured on the lift’s CCTV camera, and the video has since gone viral on social media.
The footage shows a woman, wearing a white shirt and carrying a small trolley bag, entering the elevator first and pressing the button for her floor. Moments later, a man carrying a large plastic bag filled with more than a dozen balloons enters the lift and moves towards a corner. Shortly after he steps inside, the balloons explode, triggering a massive burst of flames inside the enclosed space.

The flames briefly engulfed the lift, obscuring the CCTV footage. In the next moment, both individuals can be seen rushing out of the elevator, with the man losing his balance and falling to the floor.
According to reports, both the man and the woman sustained serious injuries in the incident. Police have registered a case against the balloon seller. The exact type of gas used in the balloons is yet to be confirmed. While helium balloons are non-flammable, hydrogen-filled balloons are known to be highly flammable.
