Naidunia Correspondent, Ambikapur | A youth dancer resorted to a unique style to raise the issue of poor roads in Chhattisgarh's Ambikapur. Dancer Siddharth Yadav performed a ballet dance on the road, highlighting its dilapidated condition.

Siddharth, dressed in a woman's ballet costume, danced to draw authorities' attention to the potholes on the Katni-Gumla National Highway. Siddharth has a large following on various internet media platforms.

CM's Big Action After Dance Video Goes Viral

The video, which highlighted the poor condition of the road, was well received by the public, and it quickly went viral. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister CM Vishnu Deo Sai, perhaps, took cognisance of the dance video. Sai spoke to Surguja Collector Ajit Vasant over the phone to assess the situation and instructed him to immediately inspect the road and ensure necessary repairs. He directed that the Kharsia Chowk road be filled with large potholes, levelled, and the drainage system be improved.

The chief minister directed that in areas with heavy traffic, coordination with the police and traffic departments be ensured to ensure safe and uninterrupted traffic.

He ordered all District Collectors to regularly monitor roads under construction in their districts, personally inspect them on-site, and coordinate with relevant departments and construction agencies to ensure the roads remain passable. "Where roads are damaged, or there is erosion or waterlogging around bridges and culverts, warning signs, barricades, and alternative traffic arrangements should be installed," he said.

The chief minister stated clearly that citizens should not face unnecessary inconvenience due to poor road conditions during the monsoon. Whether it's a road owned by the National Highway, Public Works Department, municipal body, or any other agency, the district administration should effectively coordinate and find a prompt solution.

As soon as the rainy season ends, ongoing and approved road works should be expedited and completed within the stipulated timeframe with quality, he added.
