A harrowing incident unfolded earlier this week on the streets of Sambhajinagar near Bajrang Chowk in CIDCO's N-7 area. A man was killed after a car with an 838 number plate intentionally rammed into his scooter, after which the attackers thrashed him with a hockey stick and an iron rod. The victim, identified as Devesh, alias Bunty Dixit (35), was returning home from the gym when the attack occurred.
The widely circulated video shows that the accused, identified as Pawan Parashar (22), allegedly ran over his friend with the car.
How did the incident unfolded?
The incident occurred on Thursday when Dixit was returning home after attending the gym. Parashar then started following him. The chase reportedly ended at the Mangesh Car agency in the N-7 area. Following this, Parashar rammed his car into Dixit’s scooter from behind. The collision caused Dixit to fall onto the road.
Parashar then allegedly attacked him with a hockey stick and an iron rod, repeatedly hitting him on the head and face. Eyewitnesses said that the accused took a U-turn and drove back towards the injured man. The victim, Dixit, then succumbed to his injuries at the spot.
Accused Surrendered
Following the harrowing incident, Parashar went to the CIDCO police station. Police have taken custody of the car allegedly used in the attack and have also seized the iron rod believed to have been used in the assault.
During the questioning, the accused revealed that he and Dixit used to work as bouncers for different bars. Their friendship soon stained and turned into a rivalry, TOI reported. Police are now cross-questioning the accused and are attempting to find the exact motive of the murder.
