Congress MP Rahul Gandhi reiterated the "vote theft" allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming that PM Modi had stolen votes (chunav chori) to become the Prime Minister of India. The allegations come a day after the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha dropped a "hydrogen bomb” accusing the saffron party of vote fraud in the Haryana Election 2024.
"We have a lot of material; we will continue this process. We will clearly show India's Gen Z and the youth that Narendra Modi became the PM through 'chunav chori' (vote theft) and that the BJP indulges in 'chunav chori'. We will make things clear, and there will be no doubt," Rahul Gandhi told reporters on Friday morning.
Gandhi on Wednesday called the Haryana elections a “lie,”, alleging that the state’s voter list is flawed and undermines democracy. He emphasised that a corrupt electoral roll weakens democratic institutions and urged opposition parties to unite in response. He cautioned that such electoral manipulation was "stealing" the future of Gen Z and young voters.
He asserted that a corrupt electoral roll weakens democracy and stressed that the opposition will work together on the next course of action, while appealing to Haryana’s youth and citizens to recognize the seriousness of the issue.
Rahul Gandhi’s continued emphasis on young voters, especially Gen Z, was once again evident as he presented what he claimed was a third set of evidence of election rigging by the Election Commission and the ruling BJP, during a press conference in New Delhi on November 5.
