Jagran Correspondent, Ayodhya: A secretary and spokesperson will be appointed for the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust soon. The decision was made at a meeting of the Teerth Kshetra Trust held at Maniram Das Ji's camp. Explaining the rationale for appointing a secretary, it was stated that the selection process for the chief executive officer (CEO) could take an additional month to complete. Therefore, during the meeting, the Board of Trustees decided to appoint a secretary.
Along with the announcement of the appointment of a spokesperson for continuous communication with the media, in a statement issued by the Trust member Yug Purush Swami Parmanand and acting General Secretary Krishnamohan, it was said that “Despite all the propaganda and exaggerated allegations, the number of devotees visiting the Ram Janmabhoomi temple remains the same. This is proof that despite baseless, false and misleading allegations, the faith and belief of crores of Ram devotees remains unshakeable. The Board of Trustees has expressed gratitude to the entire saint community, devotees coming from India and abroad and the society of Awadh for this unwavering support."
Rush Of Devotees To Increase In Sawan
The number of visitors to Ram Lalla is expected to increase during the holy month of Shravan, posing additional challenges for the Tirtha Kshetra Trust. Keeping this in mind, the temporary appointment of the Secretary was announced.
The meeting discussed the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra in the Board of Trustees and filling up of three vacancies created by the demise of Ayodhya royal family head Bimalendra Mohan Mishra last year, the role of the bank in calculating the donation amount under the contract with the State Bank, the trustees also reviewed the connectivity of CCTV cameras installed in the temple premises and its alleged flaws and the progress in the selection of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The meeting was also scheduled to discuss the final report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the donation theft case, but this discussion had to be postponed due to the lack of a final report. The Board of Trustees also took note of the progress of the hearings and court orders on the petitions filed in the Supreme Court regarding offering theft and challenges to the Trust.
Expressing satisfaction over the arrangement for checking the quantity and purity of gold and silver offerings to Ram Lalla in collaboration with the Mint, an affiliate of the Reserve Bank of India, it was decided in the meeting to continue this arrangement uninterrupted.
Relations With State Bank Will Be Reconsidered
The Board of Trustees expressed disappointment and questioned the State Bank's response and seriousness after the irregularities came to light. The Trust's Finance Committee was also asked to reconsider its relationship with the bank and standard procedures and make appropriate decisions.
Next Meeting Of trust Likely To Take Place In Few Weeks
The next meeting of the Tirtha Kshetra Trust is expected in a few weeks. The Board of Trustees noted the efforts to fill the vacant trustee positions and noted that this important task would require several more weeks to complete, and would only be possible at a Trust meeting.
