A viral social media trend involving Delhi Metro trains has caught the attention of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), prompting the authorities to issue a warning to content creators.

The trend involves creators placing their mobile phones against the windows of moving Metro trains to record videos. Several such clips have surfaced on social media platforms, particularly Instagram Reels, where creators are seen filming themselves while the train moves.

DMRC has now cautioned creators against shooting such videos inside Metro premises, citing potential risks to passengers as well as the devices being used.

"The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has noticed that some social media content creators are pasting their mobile phones on the Metro train windows and shooting videos with the moving train. This act can cause inconvenience or even Injury to other passengers and can damage the mobile phone devices of the users," the statement read.

The DMRC further said that the matter is being viewed seriously and warned that action would be taken against anyone found filming such content.

"DMRC authorities are viewing this with all seriousness, and if any content creator is caught indulging in such a shoot, necessary action shall be taken. Therefore, the content creators are hereby directed not to shoot such videos within the Delhi Metro premises," the statement added.

How The Viral Trend Works

As part of the trend, creators use devices such as suction mounts to attach their phones to a Metro coach window. They then record themselves from inside the moving train.

In some versions of the video, a person is seen dancing or posing on the platform before running alongside the departing train, creating the impression that the phone has been left behind.

However, creators reportedly keep the phone within reach and remove it from the window before the metro starts moving, while another person standing inside the coach records the video, making it appear to have been shot from the same device.
