Tamil Nadu: Police in Tamil Nadu's Sivaganga on Saturday arrested three individuals in connection with the alleged gang rape of a 30-year-old woman constable. The arrested individuals have been identified as D Robin, a resident of Thoothai, Sivaganga; P Maharaja, a resident of Sithalangudi, Sivaganga; and K Harish Rajan, a resident of Sithalangudi.

Woman Constable Gang-Raped In Sivaganga

According to a report by Jagran.com, the victim, a constable in the Armed Reserve in Sivaganga, went out for dinner with her boyfriend, Robin, after her duty on Friday. Robin then took her to a secluded area, where they engaged in consensual sex.

Later that night, Robin called his friend P Maharaja, who is also the victim's ex-boyfriend. Maharaja arrived at the location with another friend, Harish Rajan. When Maharaja forced himself on the victim, she refused, after which Maharaja and Harish Rajan allegedly took turns raping her.

The victim managed to flee the scene and immediately called the police.

Case Registered

Based on the victim's complaint, the All Women Police Station (AWPS) in Sivaganga registered a case on Saturday and arrested the three individuals under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Following their arrest, the accused were before a magistrate and sent to jail.

Meanwhile, the victim was sent for a medical examination, and police officials stated that they are arranging counselling to support her.
