Meerut Murder Case: Religious preacher Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, also known as Bageshwar Baba, has blamed declining family values and Western influences for the brutal murder of a man in Meerut, allegedly carried out by his wife and her lover.

Speaking to the media, Shastri remarked on the nature of the case, making a reference to the blue plastic drum in which the victim's body parts were found sealed in cement. "Right now, blue drum is famous in India and many husbands are in shock," he said. With a laugh, he added, "Thank God, I am not married."

He stated that such crimes reflect a failure in upbringing. "The Meerut incident is unfortunate. When family values decline and people follow Western culture blindly, such crimes happen. Affairs of married men and women are breaking families. If a son or daughter engages in such acts, it means they have not been raised with proper values," he said. Shastri urged families to follow the teachings of Shri Ramcharitmanas to instil discipline and morals in children.

The case involves the murder of Saurabh Rajput, allegedly by his wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla. The couple is accused of killing Saurabh, chopping his body into 15 pieces and sealing them in a drum with cement.

The crime came to light after Muskaan confessed to her parents, who then took her to the police. Both accused are now in Meerut prison.
