A major development has emerged in the suspicious death case of Twisha Sharma after the post-mortem report confirmed injury marks on her body. The findings have escalated the case from a suspected or routine death into a serious criminal investigation, with murder allegations now gaining stronger ground.
The report revealing injury marks has become a key turning point in the case. The family of the deceased has claimed from the beginning that Twisha Sharma did not die a natural death and may have been subjected to severe torture or physical assault at her in-laws’ home. The medical findings have now strengthened their allegations and provided them with a legal basis to demand a deeper probe.
Twisha Sharma’s father and other relatives have consistently raised suspicions against her in-laws since the day of the incident. They allege that she was harassed and beaten at her marital home and maintain that the circumstances clearly point towards murder rather than suicide or a normal death.
Court Rejects Husband’s Anticipatory Bail
In a major legal development, the court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea filed by Twisha Sharma’s husband, Samarth Singh. The decision was taken considering the seriousness of the case, the post-mortem findings, and statements made by the family. Following this order, the husband now faces the possibility of arrest as the investigation intensifies.
The case involving the death of Twisha Sharma, daughter-in-law of a former woman judge in Katara Hills, Bhopal, has become increasingly complex.
Even after six days, the family has refused to accept the body. They are also opposing bail granted to the accused mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, and are demanding a probe outside Madhya Pradesh and a second post-mortem at AIIMS Delhi.
The family also staged a protest outside the Chief Minister’s residence, demanding justice and transparency in the investigation.
"In the court, we said that anticipatory bail should not be given because this was a heinous crime. Police today stated that this family (Samarth Singh's) is very influential and that they can influence the investigation. We have very little hope of justice. We are fighting against the system. We want a second postmortem to be conducted, but we are being stopped. We request the state govt to take cognisance and shift the body to AIIMS, Delhi. We demand that the Supreme Court monitor an independent probe. It is part of the investigation whether or not Twisha used to take drugs. It also needs to be known who all in their family used to consume drugs and their black history," ANI quoted Navnidhu Sharma, ather of the deceased.
Police Action, SIT Probe and Rs 10,000 Reward
Police have moved the court for directions regarding the handing over of the body after AIIMS authorities reportedly expressed an inability to preserve it for a long time.
Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has seized CCTV footage and call detail records from the scene as part of its investigation.
Police have also announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for information leading to the arrest of the absconding husband. Authorities have further initiated the process of seizing his passport to restrict his movement.
Adding a new twist, excerpts from a bail application filed by the accused mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, have surfaced. In the document, she has described Twisha Sharma as a drug addict, an allegation strongly rejected by the victim’s family.
