Centre Approves Jharkhand Central Corridor As NH-99; Trade, Jobs And Mobility To Get Boost
The Ranchi-Thakurgaon-Budhmu-Tandwa-Simaria-Bagra route has been approved as National Highway NH-99.

In a major achievement that will give a new direction to the development of Jharkhand, the Ranchi-Thakurgaon-Budhmu-Tandwa-Simaria-Bagra route has been approved as National Highway NH-99, designated as the Jharkhand Central Corridor, during a high-level review meeting of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in New Delhi.

The project will open the door to economic, social, and industrial change for the entire region, including the Piparwar, Tandwa, and Khalari coal belt. The construction of this corridor will bring significant benefits to the daily lives of ordinary people.

It will be easier for farmers to transport their produce to the market, travel will become safer and cheaper for labourers, and students and patients will have faster access to major cities like Ranchi. New opportunities for coal transport, trade, and local employment will also be created.

Ravindranath Singh, a union leader from the Janata Mazdoor Sangh, described it as historic, stating that this road will bring stability to the lives of the region's labourers and open up new avenues for employment. BMS leader SK Choudhary said that a better road will promote industries and curb migration.

Reena Devi, the Mukhiya (village head) of Bachra Dakshini Panchayat, said that access to health and education will become easier for women, the elderly, and students. Piparwar BJP Mandal President Ramlal Mahto described it as a result of the development policy of the 'double-engine government'.

Iqbal Hussain, the central vice-president of the Raiyat Visthapit Morcha (Displaced Landholders' Front), said that the construction of the road will create new opportunities for employment and rehabilitation for displaced families. Piparwar MP's representative Dhanraj Bhokta stated that this corridor will become the economic backbone of the entire coal belt.
