Pollution Spike In Jaybhim Nagar

The situation is particularly alarming in Jaybhim Nagar, where the concentration of PM2.5 remained critically high—above 400 micrograms per cubic metre—continuously from 8 pm on Monday until 11 am on Tuesday.

AQI Readings And State Comparison

Monday (9 pm): The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 365.

Tuesday (4 pm): The AQI was recorded at 322.

Regional Context: While Meerut struggled with high pollution, Noida recorded the highest AQI in the region at 395.

Record Drop In Temperature

Simultaneously, the city witnessed a significant shift in weather patterns. A sudden drop in the minimum temperature was recorded on December 1, marking a low not seen on this date in previous years.

Minimum Temperature (Tuesday): 7.9 degrees Celsius.

Maximum Temperature (Tuesday): 26.2 degrees Celsius.
