The Uttar Pradesh government will establish employment and industrial centres in every district, offering skill training, employment opportunities, and support for entrepreneurship under one roof. These facilities will be developed as ‘Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Zones’, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Monday.
Chairing a review meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials to identify suitable land in all districts at the earliest and ensure the timely implementation of the scheme. The initiative was launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on January 24, marking Uttar Pradesh Day.

Each district will have a zone covering a minimum of 50 acres, equipped with modern infrastructure such as plug-and-play units and flat factories. The zones will cater to MSMEs, the service sector, and innovation-driven industries, providing entrepreneurs with ready-to-use facilities from the initial stage.
The Chief Minister said the project would lay a strong foundation for youth employment and entrepreneurship and emerge as a new model of industrial development for the state. He emphasised that the zones must be planned in line with regional needs and local potential to ensure balanced development across districts. He stressed that there should be no delay in identifying suitable sites.
Officials informed the meeting that the zones will include common facility centres, testing laboratories, design and display centres, tool rooms, ETP/CETP facilities, commercial spaces, roads, green areas, and office infrastructure. In addition, a ‘Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Skill Development Centre’ will be set up within each zone.
These centres will offer training halls, conference rooms, industry-assistance services, mentoring, entrepreneurship training, information on loan schemes, internships, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities, enabling youth to transition seamlessly from education to employment or self-employment within a single campus.
