Bihar Weather: IMD Issues Dense Fog Alert For 20 Districts, Including Patna; Chhapra Records Lowest Visibility | Forecast Update

Bihar Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a dense fog alert for 20 districts, including Patna, over the next 24 hours. Mild cold conditions are expected during mornings and evenings. The fog will impact Patna and nearby areas such as East and West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Buxar, Bhojpur, Bhabua, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Arwal, Jehanabad, Gaya, Nawada, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Begusarai, and surrounding regions.

Following this period, light rainfall is likely in parts of Kaimur, Rohtas, Bhabua, Aurangabad, and Arwal districts. Skies are expected to remain partly cloudy in Patna and other areas, with temperatures rising by 2-3 degree celsius over the next 48 hours. The worst visibility was reported in Chhapra, dropping to around 50 meters.

Weather Forecast

1. Humidity and the impact of a Western Disturbance have led to cloudy conditions in the southwestern districts of Bihar.

2. The IMD has issued an alert for light rain or drizzle in districts such as Kaimur and Rohtas.

3. Patna and nearby areas are expected to witness partly cloudy skies.

4. Fog conditions are likely to start decreasing from February 4.

5. The weather across the state is expected to remain mostly dry until February 8.

6. Minimum temperatures are forecast to gradually rise during this period.

7. The impact of severe cold and cold wave conditions is expected to almost completely subside after February 10.

On Monday, Bhagalpur (Sabour) recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 7.6 degrees Celsius, while the capital reported a minimum of 12.3 degrees Celsius. Chhapra experienced extremely low visibility, dropping to just 50 meters.

Meanwhile, Patna saw a maximum temperature of 23.3 degrees Celsius, and Kishanganj emerged as the warmest place in Bihar with a high of 27.1 degrees Celsius. Mild cold conditions continued in Patna and nearby areas during the morning and evening hours.
