Eastern Peripheral Expressway News: Dense fog severely impacted visibility on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) this Monday morning, leading to two accidents involving a total of four vehicles. According to the authorities, two people sustained injuries in the pile-ups.
Following the collisions, officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Traffic Police immediately arrived at the scene and rushed the injured individuals to the nearby hospitals for treatment, Jagran.com reported. A crane was then used to remove the damaged vehicles, clearing the roadway for travel.

The Ghaziabad Traffic Police issued an immediate advisory, urging residents to stay vigilant and reduce speed when navigating the current dense fog conditions.
Similar Incident On Delhi-Meerut Expressway And Eastern Peripheral Expressway
Earlier on Sunday, several vehicles collided on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway due to dense fog. Eight vehicles piled up within just half an hour in the Wave City police station area, Jagran.com reported added.
In a separate incident, two vehicles collided on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, leaving a driver injured and hospitalised.
Traffic Police Issues Advisory For Commuters
In view of the weather conditions, the Traffic Police issued a stern warning, urging motorists to drive at a maximum speed of 30 km per hour on the expressway when fog is present. Speaking to Jagran.com, DCP Traffic, Triguna Bisen, stated that fog density can increase suddenly during the early winter months, cautioning that "even a small negligence can lead to a major accident."
Authorities have urged commuters to avoid unnecessary overtaking and strictly follow all traffic rules when visibility is impacted.
