The plan emphasises collaboration in critical mineral research and development, focusing on processing, recycling, substitution, and circular economy strategies. The G7 also pledged to work with partner organisations to showcase new technologies and production methods. The upcoming Conference on Critical Materials and Minerals, chaired by the US in Chicago in September 2025, will further advance these goals. The plan has been endorsed by Australia, India, and South Korea.

Iran has strongly criticised the G7 for what it called a "one-sided" stance favouring Israel amid rising tensions.
