A Lamborghini speeding along Mumbai’s Coastal Road crashed into a divider on Sunday morning, leaving the sleek sports car mangled but its driver unscathed. The incident, which unfolded in the rain-soaked city, has sparked a buzz online and raised fresh concerns about road safety.

Police believe the wet road, slick from earlier showers, likely played a role in the accident. Mumbai’s unpredictable weather may have caught the driver off guard, contributing to the dramatic crash.

A video of the incident has gone viral, showing the high-end Huracan Lamborghini hurtling down the road before skidding and slamming into the divider. The car spun wildly a couple of times before finally coming to a stop, its front end crumpled from the impact.

Atish Shah, a 52-year-old from Nepean Sea Road, was behind the wheel, heading toward Colaba in South Mumbai. He lost control, causing the car to skid and crash. The Lamborghini, worth Rs 4-5 crore, was left with severe front-end damage and had to be towed off the road.

The Worli police have reached out to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) to inspect the car for any mechanical issues, according to PTI. They’ve also filed a case against Shah for rash driving under relevant legal sections.

Gauram Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of Raymond Ltd, posted the viral video on Instagram and X, captioning it, "Another day, another Lamborghini mishap." He raised eyebrows with his follow-up question, "Do these cars even have traction? From catching fire to losing grip - what's going on with Lamborghini?"

The crash has sparked a flurry of reactions online. One social media user pointed the finger at the driver, saying, "This particular incident seemed to be drivers fault as the water conditions were pretty evident! There was a lot of water, so it was easy to be a victim of hydroplaning!"

Another chimed in with a similar take, commenting, "Wrong tyres for wet roads... Owners don't understand the dynamics of tyres and air pressure with the physics of speed and weight..." The online chatter reflects growing concerns about how drivers handle these powerful machines, especially in tricky conditions.
