Maharashtra News: An elderly man from Jalgaon district was attacked by fellow passengers on an express train in Maharashtra's Nashik district, near Igatpuri, due to suspicions that he was carrying beef. The incident gained attention after a video of the assault circulated on social media, prompting an investigation by the Government Railway Police (GRP).

The victim identified as Haji Ashraf Munyar, was on his way to visit his daughter in Kalyan when the attack occurred earlier this week. The disturbing video shows a group of around a dozen individuals verbally abusing and physically assaulting him, leading to widespread outrage online.

A GRP official confirmed that they have identified both Munyar and some of the attackers. "We have taken notice of the video and are actively investigating the incident," the official stated. However, it is important to mention that, as of now, no formal case has been filed regarding the assault.

In a separate incident, Police have filed a case against a couple for attacking a cab driver in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, after their luxury car was lightly bumped by the cab. The incident, which occurred on Friday, was captured on CCTV.

The couple, identified as Rishabh and a woman, exited their car and began slapping the cab driver. Rishabh then lifted him and threw him to the ground, causing serious injuries to his head and body.

According to the Parksite police, Rishabh was driving into his residential complex when the Ola cab, following him, made slight contact. After the incident, the cab driver, 24-year-old Qayamuddin Mainuddin Qureshi, was taken to Rajawadi Hospital and later admitted to JJ Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
