Maharashtra Weather Update: A nowcast warning for thunderstorms and rain was issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at 7:00 PM IST, for isolated areas in numerous districts of Maharashtra on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Over the next three to four hours, thunderstorms with lightning, light rain, and gusty gusts of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour (kmph) have been forecast by the weather department. Palghar, Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Sangli, Solapur, Nanded, and Mumbai are among the districts to be impacted.

It is recommended that residents in these areas use caution when traveling during the storm.
Residents of Pune and other parts of Maharashtra are advised to take the appropriate safety measures after the Indian Meteorological Department released a weather forecast at 2:30 PM IST today.
IMD in its forecast said that thunderstorms with lightning, mild to moderate rainfall, and wind gusts of up to 40–50 kmph are expected in the city and adjoining areas. In the next few hours, they will affect parts of Pune, Dharashiv, Kolhapur, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, and Solapur.
It is especially recommended that the people who live in these areas take the appropriate safety precautions and avoid going outside unless necessary. Everyone is asked to stay indoors and eliminate any loose objects that may get blown away.
