Maharashtra Weather: Monsoon activity is picking up pace in Maharashtra once again, as Mumbai is bracing for heavy rainfall, while several regions have been placed under orange alert in Maharashtra. Conversely, the Marathwada region has been placed under a yellow alert for lightning.
Maharashtra Weather Today: Heavy Rain in Konkan, Ghats
The India Meteorological Department has issued weather alerts for various regions of Maharashtra:
- Orange Alert: Konkan, Ghatmatha, and North Maharashtra are expected to experience heavy rains today.
- Yellow Alert: Marathwada is likely to see heavy rains with lightning at isolated places.
- Other Regions: Light to moderate showers are predicted in other areas, with some places experiencing a mix of sun and shade.
The India Meteorological Department has issued alerts for several districts in Maharashtra due to impending heavy rainfall. An orange alert has been issued for the Ghats of Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Nandurbar, Nashik, and Pune districts, with citizens advised to be alert. Additionally, heavy showers are expected in the Ghats of Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nashik, Satara, and Kolhapur districts. Residents in these areas are cautioned to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions due to potential waterlogging, landslides, and traffic disruptions.
Marathwada Weather: Heavy Rain With Thunderstorms Expected
On the other hand, the weather department has placed a yellow alert in Aurangabad, Beed, Latur, Parbhani, Nanded, etc, as the Marathwada region for heavy rain with thunderstorms. Contrary to the weather conditions in the other parts of the state, the Vidarbha region is expected to see a mix of sun and shade today.
Mumbai Weather Update: Heavy Rain Till Tomorrow
The dream city is expected to record a day with heavy rains and cloudy skies. The weather department has anticipated heavy rainfall till Saturday. As per the forecast till September 6, the weather department has issued a warning of heavy rainfall on Friday and Saturday as the monsoon lashes the region.
