Key Candidates
With three strong candidates, the 2024 Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar Assembly election is expected to be a fiercely contested race. Suresh 'Bullet' Patil, the official candidate of the Mahayuti coalition from Shiv Sena, is taking on Abu Asim Azmi, the three-term incumbent MLA from the Samajwadi Party, who is affiliated with the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
Nawab Malik of the NCP considered a wildcard entrant, is also in the running, despite efforts by the other parties in the Mahayuti alliance to remove him. This multi-sided struggle is predicted to exacerbate the political dynamics in the constituency.
